For the last year and a half my wife and I have discussed the reasons why we DON'T want to stay in California after we're done with school. One of the reasons that always comes up is that the state income and sales tax rates are way too high. I mean, I'd most likely be paying 9.3% in income taxes, 7.25% in sales tax in addition to a federal tax rate in the neighborhood of 28-33%. That adds up to nearly 50% of income going to pay taxes. That sounds absurd!
But I've found a simple solution to the dilemma. Now I can stay in California (sigh of relief) and live tax free. All I have to do is become a democrat! Sign me up. They obviously know something I don't. Please read here, here, here, and here for references.
